Everywhere we look, we see corruption and catastrophes of various kinds. There have always been disasters, but the conditions of our world have never been this pronounced. The spiritual ignorance and depravity of mankind is more prominent than ever before. A colossal shift is taking place, both in human activity and in nature.
Media and entertainment have been preparing minds for the horrifying future envisioned by the ungodly elites in power. Widespread sickness and mob rule, (as exhibited in AMC’s The Walking Dead), tyranny (as exhibited in The Hunger Games), and outright cruelty, (as exhibited in The Purge), are just a few major themes produced by Satanic Hollywood in an effort to condition the minds of the masses. Many have already embraced their dark agenda for the future, if even subconsciously.
We are also seeing reports of unprecedented natural disasters all over the world. Swarms of locusts and sandstorms move across Africa and South America, along with drought taking place in every Australian state (which also led to last year’s raging bushfires). Millions are dying of famine and starvation.
Threats to peace and civil liberties are everywhere. People in many impoverished nations have virtually no freedom of movement because of the virus lockdowns, and many of them have no way to earn a living. Meanwhile, many are still ignorant about the pandemic, living in constant fear of a virus that poses a serious threat to only a fraction of one percent of the population.
We are witnessing a disgusting resurgence of racism here in America. Many Christians are also deceived and caught up in a political agenda to stoke fear and hatred. While we seek peace with others, Satan’s forces cry for war (Psa. 120:7). This evil world is becoming more and more vicious, indicative of the severity of the times (cf. Matt. 24:12; 2 Tim. 3:1 – 5).
Perhaps, the most revolting change is a full-fledged assault on the home, along with the shameless promotion of various sexual perversions. Calling evil good and good evil, this wicked generation continues to taunt God (Isa. 5:20). They despise his word of truth in favor of their own fraudulent “wokeness”.
With all the intensified ungodliness, threats to freedom, disease, mayhem, and world-wide devastation, you would think that our brethren would finally “take a hint”. Stunningly, most of them remain oblivious to the nearness of Christ’s return, and the judgment about to be unleashed.
It requires an enormous degree of spiritual blindness to fail to recognize we are on the precipice, and “there would be no more delay” (Rev. 10:6). Still, the mainline churches remain blind, seeing no spiritual significance in events unfolding all around us.
Unready for the Coming Deception
In every instance of remedial judgments against sinful nations, God has elicited repentance, calling them to a knowledge of the truth. He sent Elijah to Israel. He sent Jeremiah to Judah. He sent Jonah to Nineveh. He sent Jesus to the world. He was often rejected by the sinful people he pleaded with, but some have responded in faith.
In earth’s final days, Revelation foretells the blind masses will not repent (Rev. 9:20, 21). Only those who believe the preaching of the 144,000 Jewish evangelists will come out of the Great Tribulation in a saved condition (Rev. 7:14). The unbelievers will refuse him in preference of evil self-deception, and they will never change (2 Thess. 2:11 – 12).
This wicked generation stands in defiance of God, inviting further wrath upon itself in the days to come. Hardened to the truth, they will not turn to Christ. Instead, they will seek the deliverance of Antichrist!
Being enamored by his “power and false signs and wonders”, they will easily fall prey to the “wicked deception” (2 Thess. 2:9 – 11). They will eagerly embrace the hedonistic lifestyle he flaunts, bowing to his charismatic and intellectual prowess (Dan. 8:23). They do so because they accept the “strong delusion, so that they believe what is false”. Of course, God will allow this deluding influence, since it accomplishes his plan to glorify himself through their destruction (e.g. 1 Kings 22:19 – 23; Rom. 9:17, 22 – 24).
Inspired by Satan, the man of sin will personify everything this evil world has been working toward, saturating every wicked heart with debauchery, self-hatred, rebellion, and mindless addiction to Satanic lies (cf. Dan. 8:24 – 26). Even now, God allows Satan to blind the minds of unbelievers through the “deceitfulness of sin”, and outright lies about God’s creation, such as the false doctrine of Darwinian Evolution (cf. Rom. 7:11; 2 Cor. 4:4; Heb. 3:13).
Many students of Bible prophecy believe Antichrist will claim descent from an alien race, and his great deception will involve extraterrestrial ancestor worship, a concept currently promoted in science fiction. If such is the case, Star Trek, Star Wars, Close Encounters, Prometheus, the Avengers films, and many more Hollywood productions have served as nothing more than mental conditioning for the widespread acceptance of a sci-fi fantasy which denies God as Creator.
Will fallen angels claim to be mankind’s “alien saviors”? Angelic beings have certainly wrought havoc in the past (cf. Genesis 6:1 – 5; Luke 17:26; Col. 2:18; 2 Pet. 2:4, 5; Jude 6). Will they, along with Antichrist, explain away the rapture of the church as a mass abduction by UFO’s?
Prophecy speaks of the worship of an “image” (Matt. 24:24; Rev. 13:13, 14). What will that image entail? Will it involve “alien” worship? While we cannot know exactly what the “strong delusion” will be, we already observe disinformation pushing the world in this untoward direction.
The educational system has also laid the groundwork by deceiving so many to accept blatant lies about the universe. According to recent statistics, more people today believe in aliens than in Jesus Christ. The world is already ripe for Antichrist’s coming deception, and he may attempt to validate his deception by the word of angelic “visitors”.
What About Us?
God uses remedial judgments to bring people to the knowledge of his Son, but he also uses these judgments to signal coming deliverance to the saved. We can know that Christ is near, and the time is short, simply by observing the signs of the times.
Furthermore, the signs serve as a warning to purge ourselves from any sin treasured within our hearts before we meet Christ at the judgment seat (2 Cor. 5:10). The Lord will certainly bring every secret deed to light, disclosing the purposes of our hearts in that day (Eccl. 12:14; 1 Cor. 4:4, 5). It is difficult to know exactly how close we are to the rapture of the church, but we do know we are living in the season of the Lord’s return. Many are fearful, but for those with eyes to see, what an exciting time to be alive! – MAH
